THUMPING VICTORY

It was historic win for India on a historic Monday when master blaster Sachin Tendulkar guided India to a famous six-wicket win over England in the first cricket test at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. It was Tendulkar's 41st ton that turned the tide against England. The master remained unbeaten with 103 runs in 196 balls including 9 fours. Triumphant chase of 387 was recorded as highest in the sub-continent, second highest successful run chase by India and fourth highest ever by any team in fourth innings. The run chase began with a blasting spark of Virender Sehwag as he bagged Man of the Match award for his 83 runs in 68 balls with 4 sixes and 11 fours. This was a memorable victory for both men in blue and the nation.
